Ikey has been turning her photographs into digital art for over 20 years.  A retired advertising and marketing executive, Ikey has a BFA and MFA from California Institute of the Arts and an MBA from the University of Chicago.  Throughout her working years, Ikey also pursued her passion for photography and oil painting.  When she was introduced to Photoshop, her two pastimes merged into Digital Art.  She can usually be found painting on her IMAC with her WACOM, nosed up close to the monitor… unless she is golfing.

Definition: “An artistic work or practice that uses digital technology as part of the creative process. It is included in the larger umbrella term new media art.”  All of Ikey’s art starts with her own photography which is then modified, adjusted and painted, to varying degrees, on the computer.  Much of her work is focused in downtown Palm Springs and in the desert and mountains around Palm Springs.  Due to housing developments and downtown renovations, many of her images are historical and cannot be recreated today.
